Sandbox and production

  • Processor accounts are either sandbox or production (Payments > Processors). A sandbox account talks to the processor's test environment and never moves real money; use the processor's published test cards (for example 4242 4242 4242 4242 on Stripe test mode, 4000 0000 0000 0002 for a decline).
  • A deployment accepts production processor accounts only when GIEP enables it (ALLOW_PRODUCTION_PROCESSOR_ACCOUNTS, off by default and meant for the production deployment only).
  • Use a separate API key per environment (each GIEP environment has its own merchants and keys).
  • The connection test on a sandbox account makes a minimum-amount authorisation with the test card and voids it at once; production accounts are not tested automatically.
  • GIEP's own simulator processor exists only in development and test deployments (ENABLE_SIMULATOR), never in production.
